Why every diver should aspire to become a Divemaster
Becoming a Divemaster is a dream of many scuba divers. It does sound pretty cool: being a master in diving! But what does a Divemaster
Scuba diving in the Philippines is amazing. Explore it from our PADI 5* CDC Dive Resort!
Liquid Dive Resort is a small boutique resort located on a secluded beach front in Dauin, home to some of the best diving in the Philippines. Established in 2011, Liquid Resort has evolved over the years. We have continuously expanded and improved our facilities, yet the one thing that remains constant is our staff. The heart and soul of Liquid. Our local team will welcome you with Filipino hospitality. You will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.
The ocean has been our passion since the day we opened our doors. Our PADI 5* CDC dive center has won numerous PADI and PADI AWARE awards and has been a Green Fins member since 2019. Our in-house Institute for Marine Research (IMR), works closely with the local government and our local community to protect our corner of the Coral Triangle. Together we strive to be leaders in sustainable diving and resort practices in the Philippines.
Located only 20 minutes from Dumaguete city, Liquid is well equipped to cater for experienced divers, couples looking for a quiet retreat and families wanting a relaxing beach holiday. Whether you desire to take a course at our PADI 5* CDC dive center, read a book by one of our swimming pools, join a fitness class at our spacious gym, watch the sun rise on the beach front, utilize our co-work space, play a game of billiards, hike to waterfalls or indulge in a relaxing massage you will find the perfect place here at Liquid.
The Philippines lies in the Coral Triangle which is home to over 600 different reef-building coral species, creating one of the most diverse ocean environments on the planet.
Dauin coast has made a name for itself as one of the premier muck diving destinations in Asia. With over 30 different dive sites offering a wide array of critters, this area offers a little bit of everything for all levels of divers, whether you are beginner or professional photographer you will find be amazed by the diversity of the Dauin coast.
Liquid's house reef 'Mainit', is the best drift dive in Dauin, where you can encounter schools of barracuda, turtles, blue spotted rays, morays, healthy coral outcrops and schools of tropical fish. One of its most unique features is the natural hot spring that can be found towards the end of your dive. This unique experience is must dive for all our guests.
Only a short boat ride from Liquid is Apo Island, famous for being one of the first official Marina Protected Areas (MPA) in the country. Apo offers stunning coral reefs, abundant marine life, great walls and turtles on most dives. We recommend you join us on a 3 dive day trip, at least once during your stay
Liquid is an eco-friendly resort with ongoing environmental initiatives, we strive to be environmentally conscious both above and below the waves. For many years we have been a plastic free resort, we conduct dive site and beach clean-ups on a regular basis and our retail outlet only sells locally sourced and produced products.

Very friendly and helpful staff in the hotel, tasty food, very convenient to order when you are hungry as you stay in a more remote area of Dauin. Nice rooms with a lot of comfort.
Well organised Dive shop and extremely friendly staff. Combination of local and international dive masters and instructors. Always willing to help and organise trips on your wishes. We did Apo island and Sumilon island and both were really worth going. Beautiful coral, interesting marine life. The dive masters are very good in finding macro! I loved it!
My cousin did the open water course with Rachel, special applause for her how dedicated she teaches. She is very enthousiastic and you can see she loves her job.
We will definitely come back! More read less

I was warmly welcome by the staff, after a nice introduction of the resort, went to my room with sea view and I already felt relaxed.
Jim, Manager on site kindly help me scheduling my next dives, and I did a total of 10, all great dives.
Dive guides were very professional while giving their briefing, handling equipment (which is in good condition) and the dives were amazing !
There is everything you wanna see in Dauin if you are into small critters and they bring you on day trip to Apo Island to check out turtles, sea snakes and pristine corals !
Food was good and staffs very friendly.
I’ll definitely come back there on my next diving trip in the Philippines.

We stayed there for 12 days in early November. The resort is eco-friendly, e.g. you cannot buy drinking / mineral water or soft drinks in plastic bottles, so you have to buy aluminium bottles with the resort logo and then you can fill them up (for free) from a dispenser near the bar. Also eating your own meals bought outside the resort in rooms is prohibited. Breakfasts are served in the restaurant while lunches and dinners in the bar next to the pool (all meals a'la carte). Rented equipment is in excellent condition and cost 700 php daily. However, if you want to use the same set during your entire stay, you have to pay extra 300 php daily. Otherwise you will get different equipment every day. As the resort is Padi 5 * you can do a lot of training and courses during your stay. The Wi-Fi is rather average, the best in a common area, but in the rooms rather weak or almost no internet at all (room no 14). The villas are comfortable, however, during heavy rain at night our floor was a bit flooded. The room was clean, cleaned daily. The towels were changed daily or on request. The number of sockets in the room for charging cameras, torches etc. is insufficient. Despite the fact that the resort is considered to be a paradise for muck divers, there was no camera room in the resort, and the boat was not equipped with a water-filled container to keep the camera in between the dives.
The engine of the only boat in the resort refused to work twice during our stay, so the plans and the location of the dives were quickly changed on the spot and we went to other places by jeep. It took some time to arrange everything since we were already on the boat transferred there by a small boat called ‘taxi’. It is necessary because of the very rocky seabed.
A big advantage during our stay was that during the entire stay we did not even hear a compressor for charging cylinders. All the staff were very professional, helpful and kind. The resort is safe and very well guarded 24/7.
After a dive you could have a nice time by the pool or in the bar chatting with other guests.
I heartily recommend the place to all divers and non-divers with families as well.
Thank you all for the great 12 days spent with you.
Special thanks to Rhanda (our dive guide during entire stay) for excellent care under water

We were met at the airport by our van driver. Very pleasant fellow. Told us a bit of Dumaguete history, he passed by Siliman University to show us what it looked like and showed us where to buy silvanas as "pasalubong" for friends and officemates. We got to the resort just before the start of happy hour. Adrian, one of the dive guides and bartender gave us a thorough briefing of the resort, showed us our room, and walked us through the salient features of the room. We went back to the bar and Adrian was there to meet us to plan the dives over the next 3 days. This was over drinks. Due to the impact of Covid 19 on the economy, many establishments had to shed employees or keep a number to double-hat. It was a good thing Adrian was our guide for the next 3 days as he seemed to be excited about diving again after a long while. He talked about the macro critters we should expect to find in Dauin, one of them is the Shaun the Sheep nudibranch that Edith and I have never seen. I thought Adrian was joking but if you google Shaun the Sheep nudibranch, it's real. Anyway, we had a great 4-night stay at Liquid. Anyway, we had a great 4-night stay at Liquid. PAL had canceled the Sunday flight out of Dumaguete and moved us to the Monday flight. That was good as we got to stay one more day and do more dives.
I must say my wife and I were treated very well. Adrian and Tony (resort hand) were very good to us. They made sure we got our gear on properly and that we had food, water, and towels at the end of each dive. We were spoiled rotten by these two. Saturday, we joined a dive boat to Apo Island. If you go to Dumaguete, make sure to do Apo Island. If not diving, at least snorkel. The coral reef in Apo Island is so beautiful and healthy.
As for the other amenities and the quality of food and service at Liquid, my wife and I really like the place. There is saltwater and a freshwater pool. The bar is nice (my favorite place to hang out after a long day diving), the drinks are great, the food…oh you must try the gambas, the ceviche (kinilaw), toasted tune and the garlic shrimp penne. We had these almost every night for dinner. That’s how good they were. The owners of Liquid, Tim and Zoe, also hang out in the bar, and they are nice people.
The resort also has a backup generator that is enough to drive the air conditioners in the resort. Dumaguete has recently been scheduling brownouts on Sundays for maintenance. As such, the resort gets quite a number of guests who want to get away from the heat and no power which could last almost 9-10 hours on a Sunday.
Just to cap this review, special mention should be made of Rainer, the resort manager. He was able to service my buoyancy wing. The dump valve had a damaged spring and the inflator had a weak spring and damaged o-ring. He replaced them both and if not for the repair, my dives in Apo Island would have been not as enjoyable. I really should have my gear serviced before a trip like this. Note to self.
So if you plan to go diving in Dauin, do stay at Liquid Dumaguete. You’ll be taken care of. That’s very important to me and my wife. More read less

The resort is UR BEST OPTION on Dumagueta. Look no further. Extremely neat, clean & well manicured. Rooms are big & comfy but basic for the price.
Reception staff werw amazing. Food not to bad, great vibe by the pool & BAR. Lovely pools. Most staff were extremely friendly but on in particular named Joy Joy was far from a Joy. She was unattentive, rude & seemed unhappy when she had to tAke our order.
We booles a day trip to Apo, and as the only snorklers we felt, unimportant. It was expensive I i was extremely underwhellmed by Apo sea life. We saw amazing coral, very little fish & a good few turtles thanx to our hardworking guide – who made sure we saw turtles, think his name is Abo?
All in all a pleasant stay, and if ever I came back to Dumagueta,, which I wont, i will stay here again More read less

Do you have a scuba bucket list? If yes, the Philippines is probably already on it (if not, it should be!). But have you already
I feel this needs to be bunched together as not all fins require boots. Open heel vs closed heel fins Personally I prefer to have
