Tim and Zoe owners and managers of Liquid Dumaguete; have lived in the Philippines for 5 years, spending most of their time managing the dive shop at Exotic Dive Resort, on Malapascua Island. They have two young children, Solymar who is 6 and let’s face it the boss of everyone, Kai who is 3 and if you see him with a toy hammer run far and fast.

Tim first learnt to dive when he was 16 on a school trip to the Bahamas. Since then he has tried flying, managing coffee shops, being a loan shark and generally spending time travelling and trying to figure it all out. Finally he decided to stick with the thing he fell in love with at 16. In 2002 he settled in Utila, Honduras and became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Making good use of his new cool job to pick up girls, he promptly met Zoe who he married a year later!! He also reads comic books so most of his cool cred went out the window with that one.

Zoe first learnt to dive in Australia when she was 18 and at the time hated it!! The following years were spent working on private boats, in ski resorts, managing backpacker hostels, working as a chef and just traveling as much as possible, until finally at a family gathering someone asked the dreaded question ‘so what are you doing with your life?” Her first response was “uhhh… dunno?” followed by “I’m going to be a diving instructor and live on the beach”, which is exactly what she did and has been doing ever since! She also knows how to talk…a lot.

Their goal since first becoming diving instructors was to one day open their own PADI dive resort. Finally after 10 years in the industry gaining experience and knowledge while playing with other people’s money! That dream has become a reality. As avid travelers their aim is to open the kind of backpackers facility that they sought out themselves. Offering all modern facilities, great family cooked meals, internet, and swimming pool and of course a top class PADI dive center.

Liquid Staff

Jim has known Tim and Zoe since the early days when he completed his advanced, divemaster and Master Scuba Diver with them at Malapascua. On his arrival at Liquid he finished his PADI instructor course and went back to Malapacsua to become Technical instructor. He is not only teaching courses her at Liquid but is also part of the dive shop supervisor team.

A word of advice, if you get him talking about tech he will never stop!

Adam came to Liquid in 2011 on a recommendation from a good friend of Zoe’s. He arrived never having dived and instantly fell in love with the underwater realm. Now a fully-fledged PADI instructor and the other half of our dive shop supervisor team; Ads is now firmly entrenched in his new life and brings a certain flair plus a lot of pink dive gear and unique hair to the Liquid team.

His new passion is underwater videography,  so watch out you may find yourself on our You Tube channel one day!

The Liquid Dive Team are all locals of Dauin and Dumaguete. A constantly smiling, giggling and singing group. As a team they work exceptionally well together and are not afraid to chip in where necessary – just try taking the lawn mower off one of the boys!! You will even see them taking turns walking Polka the resort dog!!

They are a great team and we are very happy to have them all looking after our diving Guests.

Nez is our dive shop secretary and apart from Zoe the only girl in the Dive Shop Team!  A local of Masaplod Sur she studied Hotel & Restaurant Mgt at Dumaguete University. Nez never stops smiling and is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet!

Alfred is our PADI divemaster and a highly experienced diver who has managed a dive shop in Indonesia. He is a fan of muck diving and is always up for a challenge to see who can find the smallest creature:) We guarantee you will be a happy diver after a dive with Alfred, and he never stops singing!!

The boat crew are led by Captain Dok Dok and Roel who are both lovable chaps who communicate mainly through smiling and giggling! Julius (1st left) is one of the happiest people you will ever meet; he never stops smiling and is more than wiling to go the extra mile. Rocky (middle) is the little’un in the group and also doubles up as maintenance, watch out for him on the basketball court! Allan (2nd right) is already a certified diver and is eager to go all the way to divemaster and another avid basketball player. Roy (far right) is the true sailor of the group having spent all his life working on boats, he is also the muscle man should you need any help!

The Liquid Lodge waitress’es are Lovely and Ann. Both are local’s of Dauin and again smile constantly.

Lovely (left) makes the best Mojito in town, one of our signature cocktails.  A mother of 1 she lives just around the corner in Bacong and is always happy to help.  Ann (right) never stops smiling, is happy to share a drink and a joke at the bar and makes the strongest Maitai every!

The Kitchen crew consist of Pedy and Ginalyn who get occasional help from Raquel! Ginalyn (right) is our breakfast chef, her homemade muesli is awesome! A mother of 2 and avid sport player, she is the unofficial boss of the whole restaurant! Peddy (left) our baker and head chef, makes the best French bread in town and is also a mean BBQ cook for those special party nights. He has taken the reigns of head chef and our expanding waist lines prove he knows what he is doing!

Housekeeping and Maintenance are an important aspect of any resort and a team that some times get overlooked. Well not here, we think this crew are fantastic, always willing to help and again never without a smile. Narsicos (left) resident plumber and general go to guy, he is the pianist in the local church and is always singing. Erlinda (2nd left) lived in Hong Kong for 12 years, speaks fluent Cantonese and also loves to sing. AnaLiza (middle) a happy go lucky local mother of 2 who is always happy to chat while cleaning. Raquel (2nd right) our shopper, is also a local mother of 2 and if you need it she can find it. Reynaldo (left) our magic pool man, who keeps the Liquid pool looking crystal clear, lives just around the corner and is always here checking his water levels!

The Liquid Family are a happy smiling crew who are all more than willing to help our guests have an enjoyable holiday!
