Why every diver should aspire to become a Divemaster
Becoming a Divemaster is a dream of many scuba divers. It does sound pretty cool: being a master in diving! But what does a Divemaster
Scuba diving in the Philippines is amazing. Explore it from our PADI 5* CDC Dive Resort!
Welcome to Liquid Dive Resort, a small boutique resort located on a secluded beach front in Dauin, home to some of the best diving in the Philippines. The ocean is our passion and reflects in every aspect of the resort, through our environmental initiatives to our dedication to dive training and guiding.
Our small resort guarantees great service and fantastic amenities in a relaxed environment with no crowds. Located only 20 minutes from Dumaguete city, Liquid is well equipped to cater for experienced divers, couples looking for a quiet retreat and families wanting a relaxing beach holiday. Whether you desire to take a course at our PADI 5* CDC dive center, read a book by one of our swimming pools, watch the sun rise on the beach front, utilize our co-work space, play a game of billiards, or indulge in a relaxing massage you will find the perfect place here at Liquid.
The Philippines lies in the Coral Triangle which is home to over 600 different reef-building coral species, creating one of the most diverse ocean environments on the planet.
The famous Apo Island with stunning coral reefs, abundant marine life and turtles on most dives is only a short boat ride from Liquid. Dauin coast has made a name for itself as one of the premier muck diving destinations in Asia. With over 30 different dive sites offering a wide array of critters, this area is every underwater photographer’s dream. Another short boat journey from Liquid is the lovely Island of Sumilon where you can see reef sharks circling off the healthy reef walls.
Liquid is an eco-friendly resort with ongoing environmental initiatives, we strive to be environmentally conscious both above and below the waves.

The dive excursion offered to Apo island comes in a package that was effective, well-organized and worth every single peso, considering all that came included. The food in the restaurant is absolutely AMAZING, as well as service overall at the whole resort in their facilities. I stayed in their Deluxe cottage(Clean, lots of space and very nice for couples)
DIVING:
As an active dive instructor myself I have to say that their dive resort gave a really professional experience for diving and it seemed to me that the team has good ambience, people enjoyed their job. I think that matters a lot. They have two pools(one separate for diving that has been designed for PADI standards) as well as two classrooms(of which one is an official IDC classroom) I got to borrow books, even though I was not doing any course, and it’s also possible to order personal Diving Labels from their reception!
The best was that I could literally walk from the diveshop, do my dive and return, without having to carry my tank nor box. That’s proper diving service. Very grateful for all the assistance and good guiding 🙂
One very big plus with my stay here was that Zoe and Tim have preserved very much of the nature and genuine feeling of being in the Philippines within the resort. I really like that. Another(not as important but nice) plus was that the boat served homemade cookies after the dive!
Had a lovely stay, highly recommended!! read less

I was there for four days doing some really cool muck diving. I didn’t get to go to Apo, but the muck diving was more than enough for me. There was barely a dive where I didn’t see frogfishes and seahorses. Knowledgeable guides with eagle eyes! A must go place if you want to dive in the Philippines! read less

DIVING:
Coastal dive is quite nice with turtles, octopus and fat nudi branch. My friends also took the NITROX lesson there. Very reliable dive guides and dive instructors, everything is well organised.
Most importantly saw many many sharks! And Manta Ray too! Feel super lucky!
LIVING:
Standard room is not very large but quite enough, with a nice terrace in front and 1 min walking from the sea. Could enjoy the wind and bright stars at night. Like the pool and enjoyed swimming there. They also have billiard, but didn’t play it, needs more rest after diving.
EATING:
Like the PIZZA, fried rice, and salads, quite tasty. However we were not used to the fried food there, they were using a special oil that has an unfavorable smell for us. Beer is nice too. Also took a trip to city center to eat more seafood! There is a restaurant recommended about 15min walk away, still think it’s too far to go haha.
Very nice experience and quite recommended! More read less

The resort itself is a little piece of paradise, with a great bar and restaurant.

I admit that I am biased – this was no less that my 7th visit there so you can tell that I clearly like the place. However with so many changes made in the years since its opening just about 7 years ago in November 2011, it would be easy for a place to forget its 'soul' at it grows and changes. Liquid has not forgotten; although it has morphed into something more than when it started. The 'wildness' has been replaced by a calming confidence coming from knowing that it does things well, meets and exceeds the needs of the guest and is always looking for further ways to improve. The resort now boasts 7 aircon rooms to add to the 8 fan rooms. The rooms are good value, with good storage space and a bed that at least I liked – mattresses firm – neither too hard nor too soft. The aircon rooms have a TV that have a large range of channels and can easily be used for your one film / music library through a USB connection. The central lodge which in earlier times served as the one and only 'gathering place' and watering hole, still serves a varied and appetizing breakfast as well as being an alternative chill-out space. The central lodge which in earlier times served as the one and only ‘gathering place’ and watering hole, still serves a varied and appetizing breakfast as well as being an alternative chill-out space.
In recent times a full independent bar has been added and the very good but perhaps restrictive menus of old, with fixed meal times, has been replaced with a large and wide menu serving food and snacks throughout the day as and when you want.
A large guest pool has also been added, complete with loungers and sun shades which is the perfect place to both cool-off and catch the last rays of the days as the sun sinks behind Mt Talinis. The great thing about the new pool is that it means the various diving students whether beginners or those going through Instructor Development have the original pool to themselves to practice in closed water the various skills required for certification.
The staff? always smiling and great fun – always helpful and professional. Of course it helps that I’ve been a guest so often but this visit I also found that there had been more of a staff turnover than in recent years but the warmth of the new staff was just as genuine as the ‘veterans’.
And the diving? It never fails to delight! I have a few favourite sites along the coast and the corals at Apo and Sumilon are as healthy as ever. Something for everyone but like everything in nature nothing can be guaranteed. (Apart from the turtles at Apo, and the octopus at Bonnets 🙂 )
Is everything perfect? Of course not…. but then again I know that there are plans and thoughts for further expansion with land next door which will address most – allowing for a camera room, guest diving equipment improvements and additional rooms and other services.
Whenever I leave – I always wonder if that will be the last time – however it never is and unlikely ever will be until I no longer am able to dive.
Zoe, Tim, Jim, Michelle and all – keep up the great work More read less
